Apple's Keynote Event Announcements!

Here's some of what's been announced and what I think is most relevant.

So let's get into it.

The Apple Watch:

  • Pokemon Go will be available on the Apple Watch. The watch will show you your stats and egg progress, Pokemon nearby and wild Pokemon appearing (within range), and you can access Pokestops with it. It can keep track of the items you collect during your workout.
  • The Apple Watch 2 is water resistant down to 50 meters. This means you can go swimming with it! In fact, they even have a learning algorithm to monitor your swimming.
  • The Apple Watch 2 has built-in GPS! You don't need cell service to track where you are.
  • Nike Plus and the Apple Watch, designed with runners in mind. It's called the Apple Watch Nike series!
  • The Apple Watch 2 has a ceramic finish.

Small iOS 10 Updates:

  • Maps update!
  • HomeKit update now has a Home app in iOS 10. Siri can also use HomeKit to help manage your house.
  • Messages gets some new stickers and stickers in the App Store as well as some new fullscreen effects.

The iPhone 7:

  • High gloss black finish, called Jet Black. It provides a seamless surface.
  • There's another black color, called Black. It's not glossy, like previous iPhone colors
  • Home Button gets updates! The Home Button has new force-sensitive input. There's a new taptic-feedback for actions
  • The new iPhone enclosure is now dust and water resistant! It's IP67 rated.
  • Camera improvements.
    • There's an optical image stabilizer in all iPhones in the 7 and 7Plus.
    • New six-element lens.
    • Beautiful low-light photos
    • Quad-LED True Tone flash
    • New 12MP camera.
    • New 7MP FaceTime HD camera
  • iPhone 7 Plus Camera
    • Two cameras, a wide-angle and telephoto lens. For wide shots and zoomed in photos.
    • zoom in 10x the normal size without losing resolution
  • Retina HD Display
    • The display is 25% brighter
  • Speakers
    • Stereo speakers, one at the bottom and one at the top
    • Twice the volume
    • Headphones will use the lighting connector. Analog headphone owners don't have to worry. There will be an adapter for you that is included when you buy the new iPhone!
  • AirPods, wireless earpods developed by Apple
    • Powered by the new W1 chip
    • Sensors to detect when it's in your ear
    • Access Siri with a double tap
    • Reduce external noise
    • Five hours of listening
    • No more pairing and unpairing, just hold it near your iPhone
  • Performance
    • New A10 Fusion chip, 64-bit, 4-core chip
      • two high-performance cores
      • two high-efficiency cores
      • 40% faster
      • Graphics are 50% faster than the A9
  • Battery Life, the longest battery life in an iPhone, ever. Here's an image to do it justice.

Beats headphones. All new Beats headphones now use the W1 chip
